Global Learning Reflection

During my time at Florida International University I have grown personally and as a professional. I have learned to be more open-minded and see things not only from my perspective but also from the perspective of those around me. As a Latina student, I was glad to see how FIU is very welcoming of us and how they respect and have embraced our culture.

Before being a part of the Millennium Fellowship Cohort I found it hard to believe that my ideas and I could have such a big impact on the community. The other fellows helped me realize how powerful one can be if you put your mind to helping others. I was able to put into practice what I have learned in my different International Relations and Political Science courses.

The many courses I have taken at FIU have helped me prepare for this next chapter of my life that I am about to start. Global Learning has been an important factor in my education over the last four years and they helped me realize the potential that I have and what I can achieve in the future. Their many sessions and events have taught me valuable lessons that I am sure will make me stand out in my professional life. They have taught me to view things from a global perspective and how important it is for us to listen to what those around us are saying. I took several Global Learning courses during my time at FIU.

As I move forward to working in the political sphere, I will always remember all the valuable lessons that Global Learning and FIU have taught me in these last four years who have been life-changing for me.
