The many courses I have taken at FIU have helped me prepare for this next chapter of my life that I am about to start. Global Learning has been an important factor in my education over the last four years and they helped me realize the potential that I have and what I can achieve in the future. Their many sessions and events have taught me valuable lessons that I am sure will make me stand out in my professional life. They have taught me to view things from a global perspective and how important it is for us to listen to what those around us are saying. I took several Global Learning courses during my time at FIU. I remember taking a course called the Global Environment and Society during my first semester at FIU. In this course, I learned so much about climate change and the effects it has on the world. I also remember taking a course called Contemporary International Problems which was really interesting for me because I am an International Relations major. This course taught me about the current issues that are happening around the world and how every country is approaching them. One of the most interesting global learning courses I took is Refugees and Migrants which taught me how immigration is a phenomenon that is affecting not only Latin America and the US but several countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa. I was able to learn about the different struggles that migrants have gone through in their home countries and forced them to leave. Another global learning course that was interesting to take was Europe in the Modern Era. That course led me to learn about an area that was outside of my area of study but it helped me learned more about European History and how the events that have happened there have had some effects on the Americas.
